Volunteers

Volunteer Applications 2025 is Closed!

It takes many volunteers to successfully run such a large event for the local community. Key dates for volunteer expressions of interest (EOI) will be posted soon.

Opportunities range from the day before, show day itself and the clean-up day afterwards. Volunteers need good communication skills and a love of helping others. There will be something to suit everyone and your shifts will be arranged so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the show yourself.

Duties include:

  • Ticket Booth Operators – cash handling and ticket sales
  • Concierge – ‘ask me’ roaming customer service and support volunteers
  • Set Up/Pack Down – assisting with pre and post event setup, and pack down
  • Clean Up – assisting with post-show day clean up and event pack down
  • Mascots – wear mascot outfit to be roaming entertainment on Myuna Farm
  • Refreshment Runners – delivering refreshments to volunteers at fixed stations
  • Entry Gate and Counters – manning entry gates and counting entrance attendees
  • Photography – photograph show day activity

All volunteers are required to attend an induction session, where training will be provided. This is normally held on the Saturday before show day. Therefore, prior experience is not necessary to volunteer.

Additionally, all volunteers can opt to complete a free introduction to volunteering course run through South East Volunteers, prior to show day.

As a thank you for helping the community, all volunteers participating in this year’s show will receive a volunteering certificate post-event, including a reference letter that can be added to a resume.

Working with Children Checks

A valid Working with Children Check is required to volunteer. See Service Victoria for further information, including how to apply.
